Dedication: FS Freestyle boards are great for parks, pipes and on the slope.
Dedication: JB Jibbing boards are good for riding in the city, which is full of stairs, gaps, rails and other such attractions.
Standard board width - perfect if your shoe size is less than 11 US.
The Burton Channel is a mounting system that contains two channels in the board (one for each foot) that run parallel to the edges. The Channel allows nearly infinite and customizable stand-width and angle adjustments. Snowboards with The Channel system are compatible with Burton EST bindings and other brands bindings with specially adapted disk.
Snowboards are shaped one of two ways: directional or twin. Twin snowboards are symmetrical, so the nose and tail are the same length. This shape is usually used in freestyle and jib snowboards.
Camber is a very popular, traditional snowboard construction. These boards have more flex for carving and bend allowing more of the effective edge to touch the snow. The extra springy resistance of the concave profile gives it that extra pop.
Snowboard flex describes how flexible a snowboard is. Soft boards "forgive" mistakes, they are easy to ride, but do not allow for very precise, dynamic turns.
Sintered base - regulary waxed, sintered bases are much faster than extruded bases. Sintered bases can also be harder to repair than extruded bases.
