Dr.Martens

The Dr Martens brand has been known around the world for many many years and is a fundamental part of wider pop culture. Interestingly, they are not a creation of American scientists. The history of Martens goes back to 1945, when a German doctor, Klaus Maertens, was resting in the Alps and twisted his ankle. The shoes manufactured at that time were heavy, uncomfortable and poorly shaped - and that's when the idea of creating a new brand of shoes was born in Klaus' head.
