• BASE: S12 Duraflex Blue – The standard snowboard base plate is made of a single layer of the same material and stiffness across its entire surface. Union’s new dual-layer base plate design allows for the use of two individual layers: the core and the frame. Each layer can utilize a unique material and stiffness to achieve the desired ride feel in the binding.
• BASE DAY: Direct Connect MD Core An all-new binding base core—the Direct Connect Mini Disk—is stiff and responsive. This binding layer enables the fastest possible energy transfer from the rider to the board that Union has ever achieved. Made from eco-friendly Duraflex Blue.
• BASE FRAME: Asymmetrical Halo Base Frame The asymmetrical Halo base frame is softer and more flexible than our traditional bases, allowing for a unique new riding feel and increased side-to-side flexibility, which adds a freestyle character to the binding. • CUSHIONING: Asym Molecular Bushings Molecular bushings are more durable and provide better cushioning than traditional thermoformed EVA foams. They act as a suspension system between the baseplate and the top layer of the board to help reduce vibrations caused by hard snow. The all-new asymmetrical shape of the cushions allows for increased freestyle flexibility and natural edge-to-edge transition while riding.
