THE BEGINNINGS OF NIKE SB

In 1997, Nike began producing its own line of skateboarding shoes. However, despite being a renowned sports brand, Nike lacked credibility in the skateboarding scene, and sales were poor. At the time, the market favored companies like DC, Globe, eS Footwear, Emerica, and Vans. Nike didn't get approval from the skateboarding community back then.

In 2002, Nike decided to introduce a skateboarding brand - Nike SB. They released the Nike SB Dunk Low, which featured a padded tongue and collar, as well as Zoom Air insoles. The shoes were more similar to other skate shoes than Nike's previous attempts, but sales were still mediocre.

Paul Rodriguez and Lewis Marnell were among the first skateboarders to sign sponsorship deals with Nike SB in 2004.
In March of that year, Nike SB released the Nike Dunk SB collection, aimed at skateboarders in California. This version of the shoes differed from the previous SB Dunk series in that it was designed specifically for skaters. The models featured enhanced cushioning, Zoom Air insoles, triple stitching, and better material quality.

In 2005, Rodriguez released his signature shoe model, the Nike SB Paul Rodriguez Zoom Air Low. That same year, one of Nike SB's spokespeople, Lance Mountain, launched the classic Nike Blazer (a basketball shoe from the early '70s), modified for skateboarding needs. The revamped model was called the Nike SB Blazer.

In this way, by refining its models and building a skateboarding team, Nike SB gradually gained experience and favor with the closed, yet free-spirited street community - skateboarders.

The next big names to smile in Nike SB's direction were Eric Koston and Stefan Janoski. The pro model Nike SB Janoski achieved incredible sales results and even took the fashion market by storm from its very first releases. To this day, numerous reissues of the model are still highly popular.

Today, the Nike SB roster includes skateboarding icons such as: Theotis Beasley, Shane O'Neill, Ishod Wair, Kevin Bradley, Oskar Rozenberg, Rayssa Leal, Leo Baker, Nyjah Huston, and many other talented skateboarders.

Nike SB's current lineup includes shoes, clothing, accessories, and gear.
