• The only detergent designed specifically for cleaning hydrophobic and regular down thatóry effectively cleans while renewing its waterproofing, resilience and thermal insulation properties
• Your down items may start to absorb water because their DWR (Durable Water Repellency) waterproof layer has been damaged by dirt, or has been removed by using ordinary detergent. Dirt attracts water, and hydrophilic residues of household detergentsóare deposited on the surface of the material, making the fabric and down „soak“ in rain or wet weather
• If your down products are relatively new or have recently been treated with Nikwax Down Proof™, cleaning with Nikwax Down Wash Direct® will not only remove contaminants such as dirt or residue from common detergentsós, but will also renew the insulation and DWR layer. However, over time, due to wear and tear on the gear, we will need to add the DWR layer again, first cleaning with Nikwax Down Wash Direct®. This will ensure that the DWR will cover both the fabric on the outside and the down fill
